The Rise of Single Word Country Code Domain Names - Look Out dot Com
The rest of the world (Asia, Africa, South America)
is so late to the domain name party,
there are no great single word domain names left in any of the general TLDs
of Biz, Com, Info, Name, Net or Org.
Most of these domain names are parked and not
being used for custom developed websites,
because the owners are making money off type-in traffic.
For example, sugar.com, sugar.net and sugar.org are undeveloped websites.
The owners figure they will be able to sell the single word
domain names for big dollars one day.
There are a lot of smart people
doing business all over the world and they want great domain names.
They are finding the last of the great single word domain names
in the country code TLDs and they are using these domain names
for their websites.
This is causing a funny thing to happen.
The single word country code TLDs are beginning to be more
relevant than the general TLDs, since the country code TLDs
are being used.
Com websites have been around for more than a decade,
so there are a lot more of them, but as time goes on,
more and more country code domain name websites will
appear and the public will find them as acceptable
as any other.
