Reliable Email Service
We had some customers that needed reliable email service.
Most hosting companies provide an email server with their hosting package.
However, there is typically only one email server that the domain name can use
and there is no backup email server.
This means, whenever there is a problem, and problems do happen,
emails are lost or bounced back to the sender.
For some of my customers, missing emails is unacceptable.
After a few years, we settled on the service provided by
DnsMadeEasy,
and we have been happy with the results and the cost.
I cannot say the results have been perfect, but close enough that we are satisfied.
We use their incoming email service.
Their basic email service for one domain is inexpensive and under $20 per year.
You can buy a pack for ten domains for even less per domain.
Their email service has clustered email servers, so if one goes down,
you can be switched to another.
They also offer outgoing Email service, called SMTP service.
We have not used it, but the price seems reasonable.
Backup Email Service
In addition, their email service includes a backup email service,
so if their email servers are not available, your email is stored
on the backup servers until your email server comes back online.
You can buy their backup email service only to backup your own email servers.
We did this at first, but since their email service was more reliable than our
webhosting company's we went ahead and switched our email service to
DnsMadeEasy.
DNS Management For Your Domain Names
Some registrars do not provide DNS management.
For others, their DNS management tools are not so good.
For less than $1 per year, per domain name, you can manage your DNS at
DnsMadeEasy.
They have easy to use, global DNS Management features that allow you to set
up your DNS in templates and manage groups of your domain names at once.
This feature is easy to use and makes adding and changing your DNS easy.
We use
DnsMadeEasy
for all the domain names we register at one particular registrar.
We have found their DNS Management service to work well for us.
Customer Service
We have found the customer service at
DnsMadeEasy
to be excellent.
They have answered the phone immediately and we have talked with knowledgeable people.
They answer emails timely.
When we have changed our minds about what service we wanted,
they were happy to change our services and credit us appropriately,
even giving us some service for free.
